Brook strikes again as Adel are crushed

Nick Brook produced a devastating 15-over spell of 7-19 as Burley started the second half of the season as they had the first, crushing Adel.

Brook picked up five wickets when the sides met on the opening day and was in top form again with only Dave Standring (31) showing any resistance as Adel were skittled for 84, a total Burley passed with eight wickets to spare.

That keeps them seven points clear of second-placed Beckwithshaw, who also had a comfortable win, John Inglis (52) and Phil Critchley (48) top scoring as they passed North Leeds' 166 with six wickets in hand.

Those two are well clear of the field after third-placed Green Lane only managed two points at Guiseley. Charlie Best (72) and Ian Chaplin (59no) saw the home side to 201-5 and despite a half-century from Ishtikar Hussain, Lane struggled to 176-9 with Abid Awan picking up five wickets.

Steve Harrison hit 96 in Kirkstall's 221-8 but with teenager Calum Goldthorp making a half-century, Rawdon got home by four wickets to avenge their close Waddilove Cup defeat.

Brian Leigh (69) top-scored as Collingham set a target of 229-6, Matthew Naylor taking 5-84, but Pool had no answer to Toby Jacklin (6-24) and fell for 82.

Brian Lister (6-24) was another bowler in form setting up a six-wicket win for Otley as Thackley crumbled for 75 despite a battling 25 not out from No 10 Nasser Jamal.

Half-centuries from Darren Blenkiron and Darren Simpson and an undefeated 48 from Paul Cannings helped Bilton to 245-8 but Tong Park Esholt managed to survive to take a point.

Bilton increased their lead at the top of Division Two because Follifoot beat second-placed Harden by nine wickets. Richard Proctor and Dale Bradley each took four wickets as the home side slumped to 132 and Nick Robinson (68no) and Mike Halmshaw (42no) made sure of the win.

A 25.4 over spell of 8-94 from Bernard Hughes saw Knaresborough bowled out 30 runs short of Olicanian's 233-8.

Chris Baines hit 74 off 42 balls as Upper Wharfedale passed Illingworth's 172 with six wickets in hand.

Andrew Luxton (65no) saw Steeton to a three-wicket win at Bolton Villas.
