Champions tied up in thriller at Rawdon

Beckwithshaw'S rivalry with Rawdon sparked into life again and produced a thrilling tied match.

Last season, Beckwithshaw took the championship and the Waddilove Cup with Rawdon runners-up in both. The early part of this campaign saw them poles apart with Beckwithshaw again in the title race but Rawdon bottom without a point.

Stuart Dobson (5-36) and John Hughes (4-44) combined to dismiss Beckwithshaw for 157 and when Jamie Pickering hit a half-century, the home side looked in with a chance until their ninth-wicket went down with them still needing seven to win. Duncan Stow hit a six but, in going for the winning run, he was caught at mid-off and the honours were shared.

Burley opened a four-point lead at the top of the table after Charlie Davy (68no) and David Brook (57no) steered them past Guiseley's 201-7 in which Adam Waite hit an unbeaten century.

Set 188 by Green Lane, Otley were struggling at 91-6 when George Huntley (45) and Ricky Halloran (41) came together and put on 78 to allow their side to clinch victory in their first extra over earned from the visitors' innings.

John Stringer, Tom Bailey and Reg Thomas hit half-centuries as Adel raced to 278-7 with Jake Capper picking up six wickets. With Steve Harrison (52) and David Chan (35) leading the chase, Kirkstall came close but had to settle for two points.

Brad Lovelock (51) and David Amos (5-33) were the stars as Pool beat North Leeds by eight wickets while Toby Jacklin played a captain's part following up a knock of 79 with a 6-54 spell as Collingham beat Thackley.

Jeremy Batty (84) and Anthony Bairstow (34) shared a century stand in Division Two leaders Harden's win over Silsden.

Gareth Lee (6-44) helped dismiss Bolton Villas for 171 but a 10.5-over spell from Mike Oldfield (5-17) bowled out Calverley for 83 and lifted the home side out of the bottom two.

Alex Ledger (6-66) clinched Illingworth's win at Knaresborough and an unbeaten century from Cameron Taylor gave Upper Wharfedale a seven-wicket victory over Steeton.

Bernard Hughes (7-59) dismissed Tong Park for 154 in response to Olicanian's 188-9 in which No10 Matt House hit 32 not out.
