Cleckheaton title hopes left in ruins

Woodlands dismissed second-placed Cleckheaton for 64 as they secured a seven-wicket win which takes them a step closer to the title.

With three games to go, they are 38 points ahead of Farsley, who went second after an 84-run win over defending champions Pudsey Congs.

Lorenzo Ingram hit his fifth century of the season and Joe Greaves his third as Farsley made 305-5.

Ingram’s unbeaten 110 came off 70 balls and included six sixes and 11 fours. Greaves struck three sixes and 11 fours in an innings of 114. He shared a third-wicket stand of 153 with Ingram.

Congs were bowled out for 221 with Ian Philliskirk (4-79) and that man Ingram (3-49) securing their side’s win.

There were five centuries in all in the top flight. Yorkshire’s Callum Geldart made 112 in Undercliffe’s 96-run win over Pudsey St Lawrence, as Gulsheraz Ahmed hit 111 for Manningham Mills in their 30-run defeat by East Bierley and Andy Gorrod made 108 as Gomersal suffered a four-wicket loss to Baildon which sealed their relegation.

Geldart hit three sixes and 11 fours and shared an opening stand of 110 with Matthew Bottomley (55) as Undercliffe made 299-4. Overseas player Nawaz Sardar hammered 95 from 57 balls, hitting five sixes and 10 fours.

St Lawrence’s young opener Adam Waite top scored with 56 as they were bowled out for 203. Leg spinner Tom Hudson (4-52) and Sardar (3-56) did the damage,

Baildon kept alive their slim hopes of survival by overhauling a Gomersal total of 256-6 to win by four-wickets

Gorrod hit 15 fours in an impressive innings of 108 and Greg Pickles (51) gave him good support, but Baildon took the win thanks to Harry Smallwood (73), Richard Atkins (64) and Simon Webb (45).

Manningham Mills batsman Gulsheraz Ahmed also made a century in a losing cause. Mills were bowled out for 266 in reply to East Bierley’s 296-8.
