Old Modernians are strong favourites to retain the Division One championship after increasing their lead to 11 points.

All-rounder Jarran Cook hit 51 and bagged 4-43 in Modernians' 22-run win over lowly Walton, whose defeat was hard on Anthony Daniels (99).

Shadwell maintained their challenge when Ryan Hercules (77) and Matthew Lombard (4-24) led them to victory at Great Preston but St Chad's had their hopes dented by a two-wicket defeat at Leeds Police.

Sayed Ahmed (5-47) and Basharat Rasool (35no) gave Police the edge.

Gary Miles struck 123 and claimed 3-48 as Kirk Deighton beat Spofforth by 47 runs and Damian Aston (61) guided Scarcroft to an eight-wicket win against bottom side East Keswick.

Wetherby halted their slide when Warren Else (82), Richard Gandy (57) and Majid Raffique (5-15) steered them to a 105-run victory at Barwick in Elmet.

Church Fenton stayed on course to lift the Division Two championship by retaining an 11-point lead.

Paul Wilman (51), Makbul Mulla (5-36) and Ishmail Patel (4-19) were Fenton's match-winners as they ended Old Leos' three-match winning run.

Bramhope's promotion hopes faded with their third straight defeat when they lost by six wickets to second-placed Garforth Parish Church.

Jonathan Smith and James Baldwin hit half-centuries as Garforth overhauled Bramhope's 239 that included 54 by David Gilks.

Thorner Mexborough's relegation worries increased when they lost and Crossgates and Kippax both won.

Thorner were beaten at Bilton in Ainsty after Tim Lambert (3-8), Graham Hutchison (2-10) and Andy Walker (2-27) routed them for 94.

Andrew Radi (63) led Kippax to a four-wicket win against Saxton.
