Cricket final: Carberry and McKenzie set record as Hampshire bat to draw against Yorkshire

YORKSHIRE’s bowlers chalked up unwanted records in a bore draw with Hampshire at the Rose Bowl.

Hampshire this afternoon declared on 599-3 in reply to Yorkshire’s 532, with Michael Carberry and Neil McKenzie having added 523 for the third-wicket - the ninth-highest stand in first-class cricket.

Carberry finished on a superb 300 not out, while McKenzie eventually fell on 237; caught Gary Ballance, bowled David Wainwright. Nine Yorkshire players had a bowl as the home batsmen made hay.
