Cricket latest: Play abandoned at Glamorgan

Play has been abandoned on day two of the County Championship match between Glamorgan and Yorkshire without a ball being bowled.

Only 34 overs were possible on the rain-ruined first day at Colwyn Bay.

Glamorgan, who won the toss, reached 117-3 in their first innings shortly after lunch before persistent showers ruined the prospect of any further play.

The continual rain overnight and this morning in North Wales initially led to a delayed start to day two until 12.30pm.

But the rain did not clear and play was called off for the day shortly after lunch.

The two sides will look to resume Friday morning.
