Fenner rise off the bottom with win

HUNTERS YORK SENIOR: Only 17 matches were concluded on a day when rain wiped out the vast majority of the League programme

The only completed match in the Premier Division was at Marfleet where home club Fenner moved off the bottom of the Division thanks to a winning draw against Acomb. Batting first Fenner made 102-7 in a reduced overs affair with Andy Sykes (3-16) and Simon Brown (3-24) doing the damage for the visitors. Acomb were looking likely winners at 40 without loss, however 6-31 from Steve Sargeant and 3-25 from Richie Barker restricted Acomb to 81-9.

Hornsea's rollercoaster season in Division One continued when they were comprehensibly beaten by Londesborough Park at the Hollis Recreation Ground.

Batting first, the home side reached 168-8 thanks mainly to half centuries from Ben Wallis (51) and Paul Clappison (52). Charlie Rook took 5-43 for Londesborough, who passed the Hornsea total for the loss of just five wickets.

Bridlington moved up the table thanks to a four wicket win at home to high-flying Pickering in a match between two former East Yorkshire Cup winners. The visitors posted 225-7 after Chris Nicholl (70) and Colin Frank (72) had set up a solid platform. For Bridlington, Casey Rudd weighed in with 4-56 before watching Steve Cooper (88) and Ian Winterbottom (63) set up his side for a much needed victory.

In Division Two, Whitkirk batsman Richard Simpson was unbeaten on 110 in his sides 216-6 at Beverley.

Paul Johnson took 5-63 to restrict the home side to 174-9 despite a half century from Graham Taylor.

Osbaldwick's 147-9 in reply to home club Sewerby's 245-6 was enough to stave off defeat. Mike Artley (91 not out) and Russ Robinson were the main Sewerby contributors.

Hovingham's 235-9 was not enough to hold visitors Sheriff Hutton at bay in Division Three after George Mosey (36) and Simon Gill (84) had helped their team to a respectable score in the only game to finish in the division. Tom Harrison hit 73 and Joel Wilford 69 as the visitors won by four wickets.

Pickering's Ryan Boyes put in a top performance against Rowntrees in Division Four, firstly taking 6-36 as the visitors were shot out for 72, and hitting an unbeaten 32 as Pickering reached their target for the loss of three wickets.

Hornsea II were put to the sword by two of their former players when Driffield bowled them out for a miserly 122 thanks mainly to former Hornsea bowler Kevin Wilson (4-38). Richard Hornby scored 34 for the visitors. Driffield overhauled Hornsea's target for the loss of just four wickets with John Woolley, who scored over 5000 1st XI runs during his time at Hornsea, scoring 41.

Dringhouses II were second best at Easingwold where batting first their 10 men were skittled for 72 with Jason Sargeant (4-27) and Alan Robinson (3-23) the main wicket takers.

Robinson also starred with the bat scoring an unbeaten 37 supported by Keith Hollinrake (27 not out) as they passed their visitors total for the loss of just one wicket.

In Division Five there were centurions on both sides as Civil service beat Cawood by 7 wickets.

Stuart Baxter's 122 helped Cawood to 223-8. In reply Nigel Ayre saw his side home with an unbeaten 131.
