Geldart strikes and then gets cracking as Congs triumph

A match-winning display from Callum Geldart rocked Bradford Premier front-runners Hanging Heaton and lifted Pudsey Congs out of the relegation zone.

Together with Nick Lindley (5-44), Geldart (3-48) restricted the leaders to 181 in which Nick Connolly (45) and Ismail Dawood (61) were the main contributors.

Geldart then cracked 11 fours and four sixes in racing to 91 off 65 balls as Congs got home by four wickets.

Pudsey St Lawrence took full advantage of their neighbours’ success, eclipsing Lightcliffe by nine wickets to go within eight points of the leaders.

Suleman Khan and Jonathan Wilson hit half-centuries for Lightcliffe but a 5-36 spell from Chris Marsden restricted them to 208-9 and Mark Robertshaw (100no) and Callum Goldthorp (80) made sure of the win.

Dan Hodgson (83) and Matthew Revis (64no) helped Farsley recover from 84-5 to 240-8 and Chris Henry (5-34) skittled Morley for 96, rounding things off with a hat-trick.

Joe Edgar (75) and Norman Ali (64) top scored in Bradford & Bingley’s 266-9 and Ali (4-53) and Yassir Abbas (4-39) bowled out New Farnley for 229, with Lee Goddard hitting 54.

Sam Frankland (101) and Logan Weston (115no) put on 195 in Woodlands’ 288-2, which was far too good for Cleckheaton, who collapsed for 89 with Ian Nicholson 43 not out.

Jason Ford (69no) and Ross Monaghan (34no) saw East Bierley to a nine-wicket win at Scholes, who were dismissed for 123 with Tuseif Arshad taking 4-34.

Faisal Irfan (29) and Akila Isanka (37) led Yorkshire South Premier leaders Wakefield Thornes to 180. They then combined again, Irfan taking 3-14 and Isanka 4-15 and, with Mahmood Rasool (3-12), bowled out Sheffield & Phoenix for 47.

Pieter Swanepoel (4-31) and Jim Tasker (4-20) dismissed second-placed Appleby Frodingham for 140 to set up a seven-wicket win for Whitley Hall and stretch Thornes’ lead to 32 points.

Despite the efforts of Chris Cobb (51) and Muhammad Attari (5-54) Treeton went down by one wicket to Sheffield Collegiate.

Charlie Kaye (55) led the way as Doncaster set a target of 200-7 and even though Robert Ross (40) and Nicholas Smit (52) gave Aston Hall a solid foundation, Michael Topp (4-34) and Will Street (3-54) ensured they fell 12 short of victory.

Half-centuries from Jonathan Trower and Beck Frostick were the highlight of Barnsley’s 223-7 before four wickets each from Oliver Jackson and Ali Jahangir saw Wickersley dismissed for 173.

Cleethorpes pushed Rotherham closer to relegation, Wesley Marshall hitting a century off 60 balls to clinch a 10-wicket win.

Matt Good (73) and David Foster (61no) helped leaders Harrogate pass Hull’s 220 with five wickets to spare.

Duncan Snell (62) and Liam McKendry (98) put on 170 in York’s 280-9 and despite a spirited response from Alex Carrie (52) and Theo Smith (50), Scarborough fell for 227.

Andrew Bilton scored 76 as Woodhouse Grange set a target of 207-7 but Ben Ainsley (103no) steered Yorkshire Academy to a seven-wicket win.

David Wainwright hit 121 not out and took 3-25 as Castleford beat fellow strugglers Dunnington by 48 runs.

Half-centuries from Stuart Boyle and Dominic Rhodes and a 6-48 spell from Donavan Sinclair ensured a win for Stamford Bridge over Driffield.

Captain Simon Kelly followed up a 3-50 spell with an unbeaten 91 to pass Skelmanthorpe’s 149 and clinch a fifth win in six matches and move Honley further away from Huddersfield League relegation worries.

John Keeling (5-39) and Jack Hargreaves (109no) starred in Broad Oak’s win at Barkisland while Steve Whitwam took four wickets and scored 78 not out as Golcar beat Elland by nine wickets.
