West, who lost by eight wickets at Golcar, go straight back down after being promoted last season. Chasing 107, Golcar had no trouble, Lee Baxter, Jack Hargreaves and Craig Ruscoe all making scores in the thirties.

Slaithwaite, who finished just outside the relegation spots last season, could not escape this time. They must have fancied their chances after bowling out high-flying Elland for 131, with spinner Wajid Hussain taking 5-68 and Joah Bradley 4-29. Jamie Clayton hit a half-century in the reply but Slaithwaite fell nine runs short.

Hall Bower ensured their safety with a surprise three-wicket win at leaders Hoylandswaine, Shabir Rashid hoisting 93 and figuring in an unbroken stand of 60 with Scott Dyson who made 29. John Sadler struck a half-century in vain for Hoylandswaine.
