Hanging Heaton staged an excellent recovery against Barnsley in yesterday's Heavy Woollen Cup quarter-final before rain stopped play.

Bradford League Division Two leaders Hanging Heaton lost Harvey Anderson and Chris Schofield with just nine runs on the scoreboard before Rob McFarlane (45) led a fightback.

Haroon Rashid (59no) and Vikram Rathour (46no) then shared an unbroken century partnership to steer Hanging Heaton to 163-3 from 37 overs before the weather intervened. Play is set to resume this evening.

There was no play in yesterday's other three quarter-final ties.

Buttershaw St Paul's v Wrenthorpe and Shepley v Birstall have been re-arranged for June 20. A new date has to be confirmed for Kirkburton v Skelmanthorpe.
