YORKSHIRE’s County Championship match against Sussex at Hove has been abandoned as a draw.

Rain and bad light has prevented any play in the final session, with Yorkshire 81-2 in their second innings chasing 300 to win.

Yorkshire take nine points from the game to consolidate their second place in the table.

But leaders Durham are closing in on victory over Derbyshire, which would see the north-east county move 27.5 points clear of Yorkshire going into the last two games.

Yorkshire return to Championship action on Tuesday against Middlesex at Headingley.
