CHAMPIONS Honley followed their shock Sykes Cup first round knockout at the hands of Clayton West with a six-wicket win over last season’s Premiership runners-up Shepley.

Like many other matches, the game was reduced by rain, Ritchie Howarth and Simon Kelly spearheading Honley’s victory in the 35 overs-a-side contest.

Scholes scorched to a 10-wicket triumph at Shelley despite a half-century from home batsman Peter Drysdale. Jarrod Lee and Iqbal Khan did the damage with the ball and Scholes openers Tom Bowman and Matthew Smith took their side to victory in 25.4 overs. Bowman was the dominant batsman with 14 fours and two sixes in an innings of 81 and Smith contributed 40.
