Jamaican proving a big hit for Farsley

The Jamaican all-rounder took 4-43 as Hanging Heaton were dismissed for 178 and followed up with an unbeaten 90. He has scored 380 runs in three matches and has not been out.

Former Guiseley opener Adam Waite hit a maiden Bradford League century for Pudsey St Lawrence as they chased Baildon’s 249-7 to score a five-wicket win.

Waite made 111 not out as St Lawrence moved into second place. Waite hit a six and 17 fours and shared an opening stand of 101 with Mark Robertshaw (64).

Gomersal opener Andy Gorrod hit an unbeaten 111 as his side pulled off a surprise 67-run win over champions Pudsey Congs.

Gorrod and Shabbir Rashid (42) added 106 for the fourth wicket after paceman Muhammad Naved (6-52) had reduced them to 27-3. Congs collapsed to 129 all out as left-arm spinner Ben Platt took 6-42.

If you want exciting finishes then Manningham Mills are the team to watch. After losing their first match to Hanging Heaton by one wicket, they tied at Undercliffe in their second and beat Cleckheaton by one run on Saturday.

Cleckheaton, who needed 13 from the last over to overhaul Mills’ 216-8, reduced that target to two before losing two wickets off the final two deliveries as Zeeshan Qasim finished with 4-35.

Mark Cummins (60), John Wood (48 Tim Jackson (38) and Ian Nicholson – the last man out for 35 – were the other main contributors for Cleckheaton, Massood Ahmed (61), Farakh Hussain (50) and Iqbal Khan (45no) were the top scorers for Mills.

Bradford & Bingley opener Simon Davies hit an unbeaten 119 in their to a three-wicket win over Undercliffe.

Davies struck seven sixes and 13 fours as Undercliffe’s total of 258-6 was passed with four overs to spare.

Yorkshire player Callum Geldart scored his first Bradford League century, as he also made 119 in the Undercliffe innings. Captain Ben Heritage chipped in with 67.
