Last unbeaten record tumbles with Burley

Aire/Wharfe

Tight bowling from Andrew Rhodes (4-46) and Ben Lester (3-44) saw leaders Burley dismissed for 125 and brought the league's last unbeaten record to an end.

Ironically, it had been Otley's victory over second-placed Beckwithshaw the previous week that saw Burley open up a 13-point cushion, but now it was their turn. With Shane Etherington (6-53) restricting Otley to 169-8, the target looked reachable but only Jason Wright (35) and Ryan Cooper (31) showed anything like their normal form and they went down by 44 runs.

Beckwithshaw took full advantage, Phil Critchley (87no) and Pip Waters (51) taking them past Pool's 171-9 with eight wickets to spare.

That left Pool looking nervously over their shoulder after a 7-32 spell by Marvin Shires dismissed North Leeds for 79 and helped Adel win the battle of the bottom two by eight wickets. After two successive wins, Adel are now just four points behind Pool.

Adam Waite (69) and Charlie Best (57) led the way as Guiseley inflicted Collingham's first defeat since May.

Despite the efforts of Nasser Jamal (6-58), Kirkstall's final pair batted for 12 overs to deny Thackley victory after the visitors set a target of 239 with Joe Ollerenshaw (84) and Mick Birts (53) top scoring.

Bilton took another step towards promotion from Division Two with victory over second-placed Olicanian but it was a close-run thing after Bernard Hughes took his wicket tally to 53 with a spell of 9-38. Defending only 106, Bilton needed all the skill of Phil Timmens (8-39) to get them home by nine runs.

Harden climbed back into the promotion places, Jeremy Batty starring in their win over Illingworth, following up a top score 47 with 5-9 off 8.3 overs.

Follifoot cannot be written off, Nick Robinson (83no) and Dale Bradley (5-47) the stars of their 10-wicket win over Steeton.

Mick Scott (8-65) had Silsden reeling at 130 but despite a half century from Luke Waters, Tong Park Esholt could find no answer to Corey Jacobs (7-45) and crashed to a 33-run defeat.

Adam Pryor (80) helped Knaresborough to 233-7 but Chris Hizzett (95) saw Bolton Villas needing 15 off the final over.

They ended up two runs short and with only two points.
