Lund and Bentley star in stunning fightback

Wickersley staged a remarkable comeback to beat Premier Division guests Hallam.

Chasing 222-8, set up by an unbeaten 104, containing 13 boundaries, from opener Humphrey Emery, the Northfield Lane club were in trouble at 53-5.

Paul Lund and James Bentley got together and took Wickersley to 225-5 without further loss, in a partnership worth 172, Lund hitting 15 boundaries in his knock of 92, and Bentley cracking 81, victory coming with three overs to spare.

Whitley Hall maintained their lead at the top of the Premier Division, but must have almost lost hope when they were dismissed for 137 by hosts Elsecar, only Steve Bethel (53) staying for long against an attack led by Chathura Athukorala (4-27). However, Elsecar fell for 131 in the last over, Alex Welsh claiming 4-23.

Treeton kept up their chase of Whitley with an emphatic win over visitors Whiston, Chris Holt hitting 68 and Chris Cobb 43 of their 218-8, before Whiston fell for 70 against Cobb (4-20) and Umaid Asif (3-25).

Wath had eight wickets to spare after passing Barnsley's 159-8, Paul Wilkinson and Rob Barlow peggiong them down before Barlow hit an unbeaten 69 and Steve Reynolds made 31 not out.

Houghton Main's 115 was two runs too many for visitors Tickhill, while Rotherham Phoenix totalled 145-9 and sent Aston Hall tumbling for 111.

Treeton seconds made it a winning club double when reaching 207-9, Richard Coleman 73, and dismissing Norton Woodseats for 82 in Division One.

In the same section, Rockingham opener Andy Shore hit 108 out of 226-7 against Mexborough, who fell for 92despite 69 from Zaire Khalil .

Shiregreen made 229-8, Hedar Rasool 73, and dismissed Rotherham Town for 126.

Wickersley seconds also completed a club double against Hallam B in Division Two, Hallam reeling from 71-1 to 71-6, and falling for 95 against the bowling of Rob Jarvis and Ben Thornton, who each took 4-14 to set up a six-wicket win.

Warmsworth held Maltby at 182-9 and won by nine wickets, Raj Kundra including 17 boundaries in his 103 and teenager Laim Marshall adding 76.
