So, it's all-rounder Tim Bresnan that is the popular choice to replace Gale.

The former England international won the player of the season award at Yorkshire in 2016 after scoring 722 runs and taking 31 wickets in the County Championships.

Gary Ballance was a strong second having lost his place in the England Test squad in the tour of India, while white-ball Alex Lees beat Lyth and Hodd for the third place on the podium.
