North Leeds move up after Rigby cuts loose

With the Division One title and relegation spots already decided the attention was on the final Second Division issues.

Jamie Rigby hit 145 and with support from Jack Burke (57) and Taran Chana (44) put North Leeds on the way to victory at Adel, ensuring they join Follifoot in Division One next season.

It was a vital win because the two nearest rivals, Green Lane and Carlton, took maximum 20 points from their matches.

Michael Abbott (62), Paul Atkinson (67), Andy Lee (75) and Mike Ellis (5-36) starred as Lane beat bottom club Bolton Villas by 118 runs while Nick Thackray (74) led the way as Colton overcame Upper Wharfedale, a result that sent Wharfedale down.

Champions Otley rounded off their campaign in style, Josh Atkinson (82) and Ben Morley (53) setting the foundation for their 308. Ricky Halloran, who hit 48, then took 5-34, including three in four balls, as Collingham were dismissed for 168.

Jason Wright produced a 6-52 spell to bowl out Ilkley for 171 and ensure Burley filled the runners-up spot. Danny Bryan (50), Nick Brook (49) and Charlie Davy (45) top scored in Burley’s 210-9 in which Will Spivey took 6-59.

Nasser Jamal hit a half-century and took 5-34 but Guiseley went down by two wickets at Steeton with Jonathan Best (51) leading the run chase.

Conor McInerney (71) was the star as Rawdon chased down Beckwithshaw’s 201-9 with five wickets in hand while Vic Craven (61) and Will Liddle (4-19) helped Bilton to a comfortable win over relegated Pool.

A half-century from Stephen Brown led Kirkstall to 223-7 but they were given a fright by relegated Ben Rhydding when Forrest Hamilton (66), Red Bolton (53) and Tom Pratt (44no) got them within three of victory.
