Richardson century key for the leaders

Woodlands secured their ninth straight win when they defeated Bradford & Bingley by 94 runs to establish a 22-point lead at the halfway point in the season.

Former Yorkshire opener Scott Richardson made 105 not out as they inflicted fourth-successive defeat on Bradford & Bingley, who have dropped from first to ninth in the past month.

Richardson hit four sixes and 12 fours as Woodlands made 191-8 before dismissing Bradford & Bingley for 97 with Sarfraz Ahmed taking 4-24.

Hanging Heaton slipped from second to fifth after Pudsey Congs beat them by five wickets. Captain Andrew Bairstow made 93 not out and was supported by Andy Siddall (51) and Babar Butt (33no) as Congs recovered from 38-4 to overhaul a score of 225.

Former Yorkshire leg-spinner Mark Lawson hammered 78 for Hanging Heaton and Nick Bresnan made 44 before spinner Glenn Roberts (5-74) and Edward Walmsley (3-44) wrapped up the innings.

Farsley are second again following their 81-run win over Gomersal. Captain Ian Philliskirk promoted himself to opener and made a fine 96 as Farsley made the day’s highest score of 239-6.

Jamaican star Lorenzo Ingram (44) took his aggregate of runs to 819 and Craig Thornton chipped in with an unbeaten 38 for Farsley who bowled out their bottom-of-the-table rivals for 158.

Former Nottinghamshire all-rounder Gareth Clough took 7-11 as Pudsey St Lawrence dismissed Manningham Mills for 79 to secure a 97-run win. Opener Adam Waite (57), David Stiff (50) and Clough (44) helped Saints post a total of 176.

Cleckheaton are fourth – just a point behind Pudsey St Lawrence – after a 21-run win over Baildon. Paceman James Lee took 5-51 as Baildon were dismissed for 132 in reply to Cleckheaton’s 153-6.

Cleckheaton opener Mark Cummins batted through for an unbeaten 69 Tim Jackson (40) shared in a second-wicket stand of 73 with Cummins.

Paceman Muhammad Azhar Ullah took 5-22 as East Bierley bowled out Undercliffe for 126 to secure a 51-run win.
