ROUND UP: Double still on for Burley after Cup win

Waddilove Cup: League leaders Burley stayed on course for the double when they eased to a 128-run win at Second Division Knaresborough.

Struggling at 35-2, Burley recovered to 289-9 thanks to a solid 64 from Charlie Davy and a stand of 102 between Nick Brook (80) and Jason Wright (58) with Graham Whiles picking up 5-44.

That set up a semi-final clash with third-placed Green Lane, who were made to work hard for a three-wicket win at Third Division Menston after Ben Putvis top scored with a half century in the home side's total of 191-9.

In the battle between the Second Division top two, Jarred Leggett (82) and Paul Cannings (51no) guided Bilton to 234-8 before Sam Thompson (5-55) took control and Harden were dismissed for 202.

The now meet Kirkstall Educational who won the all top-flight match.

Nick Missett (89) and Jos Siddall (61) saw them to 260-7 and Rawdon fought back well but were finally bowled out six runs short of victory with two balls remaining.

Drakes Huddersfield: Elland and Skelmanthorpe battled out a thrilling tie at Hullen Edge Road where Skelmanthorpe needed five to win off the last over and drew level off the last available ball.

Elland totalled 195-9, Greg Buckley making a vital 70. Skelmanthorpe looked in trouble as they needed 17 to win off the last two overs and after the scores were level, Kristian Whittaker was run out going for a third run.

Shepley had a nine-wicket win over Holmfirth despite an opening stand of 119 by Javed Iqbal (80) and Darren Lockwood (60). Holmfirth totalled 198-6, Shepley reaching their target with 18 overs to spare with half-centuries from Tim Rees, Sarjinder Pal Singh and Tom Denton.

An unbroken partnership of 188 between Bilal Khiljee (107) and Bruce Cruse (84) saw Delph & Dobcross to a crushing nine-wicket victory at Kirkburton for whom Louis Aspeling and George Scott put on 137 for the third wicket. Arron Lilley spun his way to 5-39 for Delph.

A total of 667 runs were scored at Linthwaite in the Oddfellows League Cup second round, Linthwaite winning by six wickets. Paddock totalled 333-9, Steve Abbott making 74 and Waqas Rafiq 73, but Imran Malik hit a magnificent 124 not out in the successful reply and Ateeq Rehman made 89.

ECB Yorkshire: Barnsley suffered a shock five-wicket defeat at Harrogate who will visit Castleford next Sunday, July 4, at the semi-final stage.

Barnsley's decision to bat looked unwise when they were 9-3 after two overs but they recovered to 184-9, captain Jason Booth making 41. Vic Craven's medium pace earned him figures of 5-35.

Harrogate overhauled the home total in 39.5 overs, Nick Lindley and Ryan Bradshaw making half centuries and Alexis Twigg hitting a useful 35.

DONCASTER Town were six-wicket winners against visitors Sandiacre Town who batted first and were dismissed for 196. Spinner Jonathan Redfern took the bowling honours with 4-21 in nine overs. Doncaster reached their objective in 38.1 overs, Graham Attenborough falling one short of his 50.

York overcame Notts Premier visitors Cuckney by 51 runs. Liam McKendray led the way with 76 as York posted 257. Cuckney were then bowled out for 206, middle order man Thomas Ullyott making an unbeaten 66.

Jack Hampshire Trophy: Premier Division leaders Wrenthorpe stayed on course for a league and cup double when skipper Gary Fellows hammered his second unbeaten century in two days to guide his side safely through to the semi-finals of the Jack Hampshire Trophy.

Opener Fellows struck five sixes and 19 fours in an undefeated 115 off 45 balls as Wrenthorpe coasted to an eight-wicket victory by overhauling Division One side Mirfield Parish Cavaliers' total of 157 in just 14.1 overs.

Nick Connolly (78no), Hamid Khan (58) and Hemantha Alles (47no) steered Methley to a comfortable nine-wicket win at Birstall.

Holders Townville won by 25 runs at Northowram Fields, while New Farnley beat Wakefield Thornes by two wickets.
