Champions Old Modernians lost top spot in Division One with their third straight league defeat after they suffered a collapse against title rivals Shadwell.

Chasing 161-7 that included 45 by Gavin Fletcher, Modernians slumped from 146-4 to 156 all out after losing four wickets in the final two overs.

St Chad's are the new leaders after inflicting bottom side East Keswick's 16th successive league defeat.

All-rounder Mansoor Hussain (54 and 4-20) led St Chad's to an eight-wicket victory that put them one point ahead of Scarcroft, who climbed to second place with a seven-wicket win over Leeds Police that featured a 152-run partnership between Damian Aston (88) and Richard Stephens (86no).

Australian Jarred Martignago's 74 was in vain for Spofforth in a six-run defeat against Barwick, for whom Paul Kollesoff and Jamie Swales struck half-centuries.

Wetherby's last-over one-wicket defeat against Kirk Deighton was hard on all-rounder Majid Raffique (5-30 and 32).
