Hunslet, still without a league win, will again hope to put their poor league form behind them after beating Hopton Mills in the last round.

Last year’s losing finalists Wrenthorpe, who have won the competition four times in the last nine seasons, should fancy their chances against Championship team Liversedge at Bragg Lane End.

Wrenthorpe have slipped to third bottom in the Premiership and the Jack Hampshire Trophy is their best chance of silverware this season.

Carlton will be on a revenge mission when they visit Townville in the quarter-finals.

Carlton were routed for 36 in a 138-run defeat in a Premiership game at Poplar Avenue in April.

Defending league champions Townville aim to become the first CYL team to lift the Black Sheep Yorkshire Champions Trophy since its introduction in 1976.

The Castleford side, who lost to Woodlands in the 2006 final, visit Aire-Wharfe League Beckwithshaw in the first round later this month. The winners visit Elsecar in the semi-finals.

Saturday’s league programme was washed out for the third time in five weeks. Promoted Scholes remain Premiership leaders in their final CYL season before they join the Bradford League next year. They are three points clear of closest rivals Methley.
