Standring steers Adel to surprise first win

Toby Jacklin picked up five wickets as Collingham beat Kirkstall Educational to take their points tally to 28 from the last 30 and into third place.

With the help of Tim Hollis (54), Jacklin (43) saw his side to 217, then took his wicket tally to 20 in the last four games with a 5-47 spell as the visitors were dismissed for 119.

That put Collingham above Green Lane, who crashed to a shock defeat by Adel. Phil Atkinson and Michael Abbott scored half-centuries in Lane's 200-6 but Dave Standring (73no) steered Adel to their first victory of the campaign.

There was another surprise when a 4-13 spell by Ricky Halloran saw second-placed Beckwithshaw skittled for 92 in reply to Otley's 234-8, in which Jonathan Hughes (81) and Andrew Rhodes (50) shone.

With the chasing pack falling, Burley opened a 13-point lead at the top, beating North Leeds by two wickets with Charlie Davy (41) and Jamie Davey (34) in form.

Stewart Smith (56) and Nial Colman (46no) were the main contributors as Rawdon took five points off Guiseley, while 77 from Amir Raza clinched a four-wicket win for Thackley over Pool.

Bilton also took advantage of faltering challenges to open a 15-point lead at the top of Division Two after crushing Upper Wharfedale. Jarred Leggatt (76) and Darren Simpson (50) helped them to 215-8 before spinner Simpson took 6-26 as the visitors crashed out for 98.

Despite an unbeaten half-century from Jeremy Batty, second-placed Harden could only take a point at Knaresborough, who set a 191-6 target thanks to half-centuries from Adam Pryor and Jonathan Tattersall.

An unbeaten 60 from Ed Brown and 5-50 spell from Bernard Hughes clinched victory for Olicanian at Illingworth and took them above Harden on matches won.

Follifoot have not given up the chase, Nick Robinson (78), Oral Blackford (5-35) and Dale Bradley (5-35) securing a 37-run win against Bolton Villas.

A 6-40 spell by Gary Boulton restricted Silsden to 147 but despite a battling 66 from Jonathan Best, Steeton fell three runs short of their target, Silsden's first win of the season lifting them off the bottom above Calverley.
