Champions Old Modernians inflicted leaders Scarcroft's first defeat to throw the Division One title race wide open.

Steve Clapham (48no) and Matt Walker (4-33) led Modernians to an eight-wicket win that put them level on points with Scarcroft.

St Chad's climbed to third with a three-run win against Great Preston, whose defeat was tough on Adrian Sharp (63) and Lee Russell (53).

Chasing St Chad's 187 that included 69 by Mark Bailey, Great Preston were toppled for 184 by Khawar Yasin (6-38).

Second-placed Garforth Parish Church maintained their bid to win promotion for the second year running when openers Jamie Stockton (100no) and Paul Scott (47no) shared an unbroken 158-run stand in 19 overs in a 10-wicket victory over Crossgates.

Bramhope moved up to third when Stuart Costello (47), Chris Dalby (40) and Anchou Shembeka (4-26) steered them to a two-wicket success at Saxton.

Stuart Cobbett struck an unbeaten 125 and took four catches as Old Leos continued their revival by beating Bilton in Ainsty by six wickets.
