Thornes flayed by magnificent Fellows

FORMER Yorkshire all-rounder Gary Fellows took his tally to 621 runs in seven games with an unbeaten 134 as Premier Division leaders Wrenthorpe continued their unbeaten start.

Fellows, who hammered five sixes and 19 fours, shared an unbroken 219-run stand in 31 overs with Eric Austin (51no) as Wrenthorpe beat Wakefield Thornes by 10 wickets.

Opener David Meiring (113) led Thornes' scoring.

Wrenthorpe stayed five points ahead of champions Methley, who crushed lowly Ossett.

Hamid Khan struck 121 off 127 balls and Chris Leaf smashed seven sixes in an undefeated 75 off 33 deliveries in Methley's 323-5, the top-flight's highest total this season.

Sri Lankan Hemantha Alles claimed 6-20 from 11.5 overs to rout Ossett for 93.

Northowram Fields climbed to third with a 31-run victory against 2008 champions Birstall, who are still without a league win, despite Rob Peregrine's unbeaten 62.

Unbeaten Hunslet Nelson increased their lead to five points in Division One with a 113-run win at East Leeds.

Will Stiff (5-52) and Phil D'Arcy (4-35) bowled out East Leeds for 137 after Tommy Roy (118) and Stiff (47) had guided Hunslet to 250-6.

Chasing Caribbean's 194, Mirfield Parish Cavaliers were sent collapsing to 110-8 by Everton Wattley (7-34) before Paul Brook (53no) and Russell Ward (43no) who shared a match-winning unbroken stand of 85.
