Treeton in a hurry to see off rivals Tickhill

Premier Division champions Treeton were in a rush against Tickhill and got rid of the guests in plenty of time to watch England's less than impressive display against the USA in football's World Cup.

The irrepressible Steve Foster and long-serving Dave Burden grabbed five wickets each as Tickhill fell for 80, Treeton cruising to a 10-wicket victory, Andy Tomlinson cracking 52.

Nearest rivals Whitley Hall got back to winning ways, after their first loss of the season, to Phoenix, when hammering 304-4, highest team score of the day, against Houghton Main. Alex Welsh slammed 16 boundaries in his 113 and South African Jaco Castle an unbeaten 105, Alex Fletcher chipping in with 61.

Houghton were then seen off for 159, Castle snapping up 5-14 and Tom Fletcher 4-55.

Elsecar's woeful season contined with another disappointing home performance, all out for 144 against the attack of Aston Hall's Rob Ward, 7-42, the guests going on to a four-wicket win, Scott Jones making 47.

Wath made their trip to Hallam pay off with a five-wicket win after sending back the hosts for 122.

Paul Wilkinson did the bulk of the damage with 6-32, only junior Chris Hughes, with a late 52, posing any problems for Wath, for whom stalwart Steve Reynolds hit an unbeaten 60.

Whiston's 229-7 was just too many for the Barnsley youngsters, Steve Taylor top bat with 83, after openers Jason Larder, 65, and Asadullah Butt, 42, had given the hosts a fine start.

Barnsley closed on 205, teenagers Ben O'Brien and Danial Rafiq hitting 70 and 40 respectively.

Wickersley had four wickets in hand after passing Phoenix's 161, in which Danesh Raheja struck 57no and Rob Jones grabbed 5-31.

The Wickersley batsmen of note were Scott Cunningham, 59, and Haidar Jahangir, 44.

All-rounders to catch the eye in Division One were Doncaster Town's Paul Goodwin, with an unbeaten 63 and 4-39 as his side outpointed Treeton B, and Rockingham's Andy Moore, with 74no and

4-37 in the away win at Norton Oakes.
