Undercliffe happy for the rain to fall

Sri Lankan teenager Naveed Gharni hit a stunning unbeaten 149 for Bradford & Bingley at Bankfoot on an afternoon when rain led to the abandonment of all six Division One games.

Gharni struck nine sixes and 17 fours and shared in a second-wicket stand of 220 with opener Scott Etherington (80) as Bradford & Bingley made 259-3 before declaring as the rain started.

Farsley opener Steve Simpson made 105 with six sixes and 10 fours in his side's match at Cleckheaton.

The side who were happiest to see the rain were leaders Undercliffe. They were without a game and retain their one-point lead over Pudsey Congs.
