Batsman Adam Lyth says Yorkshire’s Ashes contingent can hold their heads up high after England’s heavy defeat Down Under.

Lyth, 26, joined a number of his fellow players in the first nets session of the new year at Headingley Carnegie on Monday, as the White Rose county prepare for another County Championship title challenge.

And he was full of the joys of being back in action after adhering to first-team coach Jason Gillespie’s order to his players to enjoy Christmas as best they could.
