Wright leads way for Phoenix in T20 event

The 20/20 Cup saw Rotherham Phoenix make 178-3, Mark Wright 65, and dismiss Upper Haugh for 99, with three wickets each for John Ashton, Dave and Andrew Judge.

Norton Woodseats’ 108-5 – Aamir Ashfaque 45 – was enough against Shiregreen, who fell for 91. Doncaster held Maltby to 
128-6 and replied with 129-4, Matthew Head making 48.

Hallam contained Millhouses Works to 100-7, and replied with 101-2, Humphrey Emery hitting 60.

Coal Aston’s 147-8, of which Dave Rodgers made 49 and Laurence Browse 43, was too many for Whiston, who made 136-9.

Conisbrough set a target of 
175-8 – Matt Barnes 52 – for Sheffield Collegiate, who reached the next round of the Memorial Trophy with 176-8.

Hallam whipped out Rockingham for 45, James Smedley taking 5-11, and eased to 46-2.

Darfield advanced in the President’s Cup after sending back Mexborough for 106 despite Ryan Tingle making 44 as Evan Todd captured 4-9. Darfield reached 101-6 thanks largely to Mitch Phillips’s 53.

In the President’s Cup, Elsecar had six wickets to spare after passing Thorpe Hesley/High Green’s 66, teenager Matthew Wilson grabbing 4-13.

Rotherham hit 152-8 with James Schofield on 64 and had Maltby back in the pavilion for 117, Alex Staveley taking 4-33.

Frecheville made 175-9, junior Adam Buckle striking 56, at Oughtibridge, who went through on 178-8 with Adil Nasim cracking 70.
