Yorkshire beaten in final Champions League game

Yorkshire’s Twenty20 Champions League adventure is over after they suffered a third defeat in four group games in South Africa.

They lost to Chennai Super Kings by four wickets with six balls remaining.

Gary Ballance made 58 from 38 balls while David Miller scored 38 from 26 on his return to the team as Yorkshire made 140-6 in their allotted 20 overs.

In reply, S Badrinath hit 47 and MS Dhoni and SK Raina added 31 apiece as the Super Kings made 141-6 in 19 overs.

Iain Wardlaw, Steve Patterson and Oliver Hannon-Dalby took two wickets apiece.

But Yorkshire’s Twenty20 campaign is over after two wins, three defeats and a rained-off game.
