Yorkshire have already announced that they are signing some leading world-class players in the form of Glenn Maxwell, Aaron Finch, Kane Williamson and Younus Khan.

And in the wake of the Test squad announcement, Gale tweeted: “Great to see our lads get further recognition. 5 out of 6 come through our own academy, great testament to the club.

“Yes it will be tough without them but it’s an opportunity for the next young lads to show there skills.”

Yorkshire’s first-team coach Jason Gillespie has tweeted: “Awesome to see 6 Yorkshire players in the England Test Squad. Thoroughly deserved lads! #strongunit #YCCC”
