Yorkshire Diamonds captain Lauren Winfield made a half-century as England women beat Sri Lanka by 122 runs to ensure qualification for next year’s World Cup.
Winfield, from York, scored 51 at the top of the order as England amassed a weighty first innings total of 295 in Colombo.
Heather Knight and Natalie Sciver (51) also compiled half-centuries, with captain Knight top-scoring with 53 off 58 deliveries, including three fours and three sixes.
England were bowled out by the last ball of the innings to settle for 295 all out yet, in reply, Sri Lanka could only reach 173 with Danielle Hazell taking three wickets and Laura Marsh two.
Having won their opening one-day international by eight wickets earlier this week, England needed one more victory from their three remaining ODIs to reach the 2017 World Cup back on home turf.
