The Yorkshire chairman, who has been an ECB board member since 2010, was looking to fill the role after Dennis Amiss decided not to seek re-election following six years as deputy to chairman Giles Clarke.

Graves was elected by 41 members of the ECB at their annual general meeting and his term of office will run until 2016.
