England’s 16-strong squad for the first two Tests includes the returning Ben Stokes, Jofra Archer and Rory Burns.
Stokes and Archer were rested for the ongoing Sri Lanka series and Burns was at home for the birth of his first child. Ollie Pope will travel to India and be officially added to the squad as soon as he is fully recovered from a shoulder injury.
With Stokes and Archer back, and subject to the fitness of the rest of the squad, Somerset’s Craig Overton will return home after the Sri Lanka series.
