American Megan Guarnier left the field in her wake as she charged up the Cow and Calf in Ilkley to win stage two of the Asda Tour de Yorkshire Women’s Race and take the overall victory.

The 33-year-old won by 14 seconds on her birthday after mounting a solo attack at the foot of the Tour de Yorkshire’s first ever summit finish.

Britain’s Dani Rowe finished third on the stage and took second overall.
