Davis reaches York
snooker: Steve Davis has qualified for the finals of the williamhill.com UK Championship, which cues off at the York Barbican next weekend.
The six-time world champion, 55, beat Jamie Burnett 6-2 in qualifying yesterday and was joined by 17-year-old Luca Brecel who thrashed former Crucible winner Peter Ebdon 6-1.
Joining the duo is Jack Lisowski, 21, who beat Joe Perry 6-4, while Sheffield-based Cao Yupeng upset the odds to beat Jamie Cope 6-4 and Mark Joyce produced another upset to edge out Marcus Campbell by the same score.
