Dawson set to give back training tips at Tockwith

HANNAH DAWSON, who learned to ride at Jodhpurs Riding School in Tockwith, is returning to give a demonstration there on horse training on Saturday.

Hannah has been studying clicker training for the past six years, a method which she describes as using positive reinforcement and reward and she has used this technique to train youngsters, problem ponies and rescued horses.

Clicker training, more commonly used with dogs, is effective because it motivates the horse to want to learn, says Hannah. "You build up a great bond with your horse who becomes calm, willing and loves to work."
