Doncaster Rovers v Watford: Rovers' budget concerns to cost Fortune

Championship: DONCASTER ROVERS manager Sean O'Driscoll is hopeful of securing permanent deals for midfielders John Oster and Simon Gillett, but there is no future at the club for Quinton Fortune.

Gillett has returned to parent club Southampton while Oster is only on a short-term contract at the Keepmoat Stadium.

O'Driscoll, who is working within a tight budget, said: "We're trying to wangle something where Simon feels he has been looked after and we feel we have done the best we can, it is the same with John.

"Ideally, I'd like to keep Quinton as well. He is a good influence around the place but financially I can't do it."

Today's match is Rovers' first game since Boxing Day and to combat the weather they have spent the week training indoors.

Rovers are to step up their bid to sign Mario Simunovic after receiving confirmation the striker is available for free from Degerfors in Sweden.
