England’s Tindall out of Gloucester’s promotion push

England’s Mike Tindall is set to miss Gloucester’s Aviva Premiership title push after undergoing an operation to repair ankle ligament damage.

Otley-born Tindall, who captained champions England in four of their five RBS 6 Nations games this year, suffered the injury in the first half of the win against Scotland.

The Gloucester centre missed Saturday’s 24-8 defeat to Ireland and had surgery on the ankle yesterday.

In-form Gloucester won the LV= Cup on Sunday and are currently third in the Premiership table.

Tindall is set to be sidelined for 12 weeks.
