Today the Yorkshire Post launches Fantasy Golf 2010, the online game which gives players the chance to select their favourite golfers from Phil Mickelson to Paul Casey.

Up for grabs is a host of great prizes from our partners at the Nike Golf Academy at Oulton Hall, ranging from weekly awards to a star prize for the person who tops the leaderboard at the end of the season.

Weekly prizes: One-hour golf lesson with a PGA professional and a Nike goodie bag – (balls, hat and towel).

Monthly prizes: Four one-hour golf lesson with a PGA professional and a Nike Golf Bag.

The Fantasy Golf season runs from the WGC-CA Championship in Florida next month to the season-ending Dubai World Championship in November.

Unlike last year when there was a mid-season break, this year the competition runs right the way through the season and includes the Ryder Cup at Celtic Manor.

But before that, there are tournaments on both the European and US PGA tours each week for your team to score points in. If your players are not up to scratch you can transfer them out on a weekly basis.

So you will have to think tactically throughout the season, asking yourself whether Vijay Singh is a sound bet at Sawgrass or Lee Westwood is worth a wager at Wentworth.

Of the Yorkshire players involved, Simon Dyson's elevation up the world rankings following his two wins in 2009, have seen him catapulted into a very competitive Category Six alongside a host of fellow Ryder Cup hopefuls.
