Flanker Buckenham in to sink Skipton

After conceding an early try and a penalty, leaders Wheatley Hills took control to win 24-14 at Skipton.

Wheatley went 10-8 ahead by half-time, Dan Storey converting a try by flanker Tom Buckenham and adding a penalty and Buckenham forced his way over for an almost identical try in the second half.

Sheffield maintained their second place with a 32-13 win over Scarborough at Abbeydale Park.

Scarborough edged in front with a penalty by hooker Matty Jones but Sheffield equalised through Donal Collins's penalty and went ahead with tries by Adrian Montague and Matt Poste, the latter converted by Collins.

Scarborough came back on the stroke of half-time with a try by New Zealander Louis Karl at No 8 and replacement prop Paul Taylor crashed over for a try. Sheffield pulled clear again with further tries from flanker Tom Womack and winger Joel Barrett, both converted by Collins.

Dinnington let a 20-12 lead slip and were defeated 24-20 at York, who scored four tries to three, backs Joe Maud and Ben Johnson, hooker James Arkle and winger Billy Cakaunitabua getting the touchdowns and Paul Williams converting two.

No 8 Will Marshall scored Dinnington's three tries, with Darren Cannadine converting one and adding a penalty.

Malton and Norton, after their own win over Dinnington, underlined their good form with a 33-3 home victory over higher-placed Keighley.

It was Malton's best display of the season. After leading by only seven points at half-time following a try by No 8 Sam Trippett which Teei Piawi converted, they drove home their advantage with Trippett's second try and others from full-back Ian Cooke and centres Piawi and Ryan Lonsdale.

Yarnbury won 21-12 at Castleford. Centre Jason Avison and winger Mark Dixon scored their tries, and Stephen Riley kicked a conversion and two penalties, Avison adding another penalty.

Selby ran in seven tries on their way to a 45-7 win over Bradford Salem. Wingers Andy Gabel and Alex Arthur both scored twice.

Bridlington won 37-7 at Heath to move ahead of them.
