Accrington Stanley 2 Rotherham United 3: Ten-man Stanley stung by Millers

CAPTAIN Ryan Cresswell marked his return to the side with a dramatic stoppage-time winner as Rotherham stretched their unbeaten run to eight games.

Cresswell had been sidelined for the last three matches after being affected by the death of his grandad who he had described as 'the biggest inspiration' in his life and his 'greatest supporter'.

"I'm dedicating the goal to him, I just knew I was going to get the winner when we pulled it back to 2-2," said the 22-year-old central defender. "It was strange thinking it but I just knew."

It came from a towering header following a long throw from fellow central defender Exodus Geohaghon who had equalised himself nine minutes from time when heading in a Nicky Law corner. His first Rotherham goal.

"I knew we would cause them problems at set pieces because we had a clear height advantage," said Rotherham manager Ronnie Moore. "But it didn't look as if we'd get there as the clock ticked down. We had enough chances but their keeper had stopped it being four or five by half-time."

After falling behind early on to Andy Parkinson, Rotherham quickly hit back with Adam Le Fondre's penalty, his 11th goal of the season, after he had been brought down from behind by Kevin Long. The red card was unarguable and ended his debut, on-loan from Burnley, after just 17 minutes.

Brilliant goalkeeping by Ian Dunbavin prevented Le Fondre, Kevin Ellison and Tom Pope putting Rotherham in charge.
