TONY McMAHON insists these are 'exciting times' for Bradford City as the club's new owners brought Josh Cullen back to the club for a second time.

The 20-year-old midfielder yesterday returned to Valley Parade on a five-month loan deal from West Ham United.

Bradford are understood to have beaten off competition from a number of clubs, including Bolton Wanderers under former manager Phil Parkinson, to land
Cullen, who made a big impression at the League One club last term.

“It is a fresh season, fresh players, management, everything has changed,” said defender McMahon, ahead of tonight’s EFL Cup visit to Accrington Stanley.

“Last season has gone, it is history and there is nothing we can do about it now.

“We have got to look forward and these are exciting times to be a Bradford City player and supporter.

“New owners have come in and the plans are in place for the club to go in the right direction.

I think Saturday (a 0-0 draw with Port Vale) was a positive performance but we just couldn’t score a goal. Keep doing the right things and I am sure the goals will come.”

Cullen is in the squad tonight but Nathan Clarke and Timothy Dieng both miss out due to calf problems along with Matthew Kilgallon, who manager Stuart McCall wants to work on his fitness following last week’s arrival.
