Adam Murray offers update on Barnsley defender Michael Sollbauer

On Sollbauer, Murray said: "He is okay and he is back with us. I am not sure if he was completely knocked out, but he is a little bit groggy but he is okay.

"It was one of those challenges we probably don't see in the game anymore. It was an old-school '50-50' and credit to Solly for putting his head in a place where he was as he knew he was going to get hurt for the benefit of the team.

"But that sums him up as a bloke."

On whether protocols will mean that Sollbauer must spend a spell on the sidelines, he added: "It will be dependent or not he was knocked unconscious and the doctor and physio will have to assess it over the next 24 hours."

On the Reds rescuing a dramatic point, Murray, whose side led early on through Michal Helik but trailed early in the second half after goals from Jack Hunt and Tyreeq Bakinson, added: "It was a strange moment as it went on for that long with their players messing about on the penalty spot trying to get in Cauley's head.

"But It was fantastic for Cauley to score.

"I thought in the start of the first half, we were outstanding, but a great set-piece routine we were really happy with came off and I felt we had really good spells in the first half.

"Five minutes cost us at the start of the second half, but after that, the boys showed great character. If that final pass had been a bit better in the second half, I think we'd have got another two or three goals."

Offering his thoughts on the late penalty, Bristol City head coach Dean Holden said: "It was a cruel ending at the end of the game, but first and foremost, our thoughts go out to the Barnsley centre-back.

"He did not look in a good way at the end. So, fingers crossed he is okay.

"But it did not look clear enough to give a penalty, I have got to be honest. I don't like questioning referees, but it did not look clear enough to give a penalty with the last kick of the game.

"But you get on with that."
