Americans confirm Owls interest over

CHAMPIONSHIP: The American investment company Club 9 Sports have issued a statement confirming that they will not be submitting an improved offer for Sheffield Wednesday, writes Ian Appleyard.

The Owls had been hoping to attract a 20m investment from the Chicago-based firm, who had been involved in lengthy negotiations with the club during this season.

However, the offer was slashed to just 2m, alongside a request for 420,000 per year in management fees, and was immediately thrown out.

In a statement on the company's website, managing partner John Prutch said Club 9 would stand by their original offer but wished to clarify their own position in order to help the Owls move forward.
