Barnsley 2 Notts Co 3: Wilson blasts defence as Reds suffer at home
Striker Devante Cole and midfielder Conor Hourihane had put the Reds two up after only 12 minutes. But Barnsley somehow contrived to throw that lead away as the visiting Magpies punished them with a fine comeback at Oakwell.
It took the visitors just eight minutes to reduce their arrears when Garry Thompson lashed home Haydn Hollis’s through-ball from 20 yards.

“We should have been 4-0 up at half-time, but we’ve ended up losing the game,” reflected Wilson. “We were fantastic at one end of the pitch and created chance, after chance, after chance.
“And in the second half we’ve created chances, but at the other end of the pitch we’ve been quite poor in every department of defending.
“Everyone will look at this result and think we were poor. Well, the defensive side were.”
