The seventh-placed Reds slipped up in a 2-1 weekend loss at home to Danny Wilson’s Chesterfield - and have not won in their past three home games and trail sixth-placed Walsall by six points with six matches remaining of their rollercoaster League One campaign.

But he accepts that Barnsley must perform their side of the bargain by beating seventh-from-bottom Oldham, who have tightened up considerably under John Sheridan.

Centre half Marc Roberts is okay, despite suffering a whack in his eye at the weekend - with Heckingbottom reporting no fresh injury problems from Saturday.
