Brad Collins. Excellent early save to settle the nerves. But it got far tougher after that. Nightmare for Chelsea's fifth goal. 5

Michael Sollbauer. Made an uncharacteristic mistake for the hosts' fourth goal. Did go close in first half. 5

Aapo Halme. A poor pass out led to Chelsea's opener and he fell for a clever dummy by Abraham in the build-up to Chelsea's second. 5

Jordan Williams. Will had learned quite a bit against a flyer in Hudson-Odoi, who had Lampard on his case. 5.

Kilian Ludewig. Got in some good positions down the right and displayed plenty of energy and intent. Had his hands full with Havertz at times. Good education for him. 6

Alex Mowatt. Sloppy moments interspersed with bits of authority. Will not have been happy for Chelsea's third goal after being dispossessed by Havertz. 5.

Marcel Ritzmaier. Eventful first half. Played a very loose ball which was seized on by Abraham for Chelsea's opener. Had a couple of good chances to test Caballero. Maybe should have done better. 5

Callum Styles. Handed a berth on the left and involved in some good moments for Barnsley. Another who will benefit from the experience. Kept going. 6

Dominik Frieser. Had to show discipline in his defensive duties and showed some nice touches in the first half. But it was not his sort of evening. 6

Patrick Schmidt. Led the fight going forward in the first half. Harder on the resumption. Kept going. 6

Cauley Woodrow. Dropped deep to help out and produced a mature performance. Went very close with a fine curler before exiting at the interval. 6
