Barnsley beat League One’s surprise package Gillingham at Oakwell.

On-loan midfielder Ben Pearson, his parent club is Manchester United, fired home after a free-kick was only partially cleared.

Marley Watkins then picked out Sam Winnall who steered the ball home.

Max Ehmer was denied by the woodwork when he flicked on Doug Loft’s free-kick, but the visitors were well beaten.
