Leon Wobschall delivers his verdict after Barnsley’s impressive win over Oxford United at Oakwell in League One.
Davies. Not too much to do in the second half, but remained alert. Couple of decent saves to deny lively sub Hall. 6.
Cavare. His surge forward created Thiam’s opener and had a decent afternoon along with a number of others. 7.
Pinnock. Forceful performance in the heart of the back four. 7.
Lindsay. Obita gave him the slip a couple of times. But solid in the main. 7
Pinillos. A source of creation down the left, with his deliveries posing problems. One mistake in the second half, but wasn’t punished. 7.
Potts. His bursts from midfield created problems and was a hive of industry. Struck a fine goal to seal the game. 8.
Dougall. Neat and tidy in the middle. Good debut, almost crowned by a maiden strike following an audacious long-range effort midway through the second-half. 7.
Mowatt. Carried on from where he left off following a fine pre-season. Dominant, assertive performance. Energy levels good.. 8
Thiam. Two cracking goals and he plundered his opening goals at Oakwell in style. Faded a little on restart, but work had been done. 8.
Moore. Plenty of graft and threat. Went close with an early header and gave the U’s defence no peace. Non-stop effort. 8.
Bradshaw. Sharp and busy performance and put himself about. Close to a late goal. 7.
