SIMON GRAYSON and his Leeds United side were left stunned as Ricardo Vaz Te grabbed a hat-trick as Barnsley ran out derby winners, writes Ian Appleyard.
Reds manager Keith Hill recalls midfielder Miles Addison, Stephen Foster and defender Bobby Hassell for today’s Yorkshire derby against Leeds United.
Addison replaces the injured Jim O’Brien while Rob Edwards drops to the bench to make way for Hassell in a re-shuffled back four. Foster comes in for Ricardo Vaz Te.
Leeds manager Simon Grayson makes four changes.
Midfielder Robert Snodgross is ruled out after an appendix operation and defender Tom Leeds is ruled out with a head injury.
There are recalls for Paul Connolly, Mika Vayrynen, Ramon Nunez, and Andy Keogh.
Adam Clayton and Lucianno Becchio drop to the bench.
Vaz Te was an early substitute for Jacob Butterfield and netted after 16 minutes to break the early deadlock.
And it was the same player who got Barnsley’s second goal, firing home on 51 minutes.
Things turned even worse on 61 minutes, Craig Davies curling home from the edge of the penalty area.
Eleven minutes later it was 4-0, Vaz Te completing his hat-trick to leave the visiting supporters stunned.
At least United fans had some late cheer when Becchio snatched a late goal.
